We are pleased to be offering a group of exceptionally neat 4 and 8 Reales salvaged from the Sao Jose Shipwreck of 1622.
The story of the Sao Jose wreck is amazing! This Portuguese ship was on its way to trade in Goa (Portuguese India), but was attacked by the combined forces of the Dutch and the British, and sunk off the coast of Mozambique in 1622. In 2005, the wreck was located and 24,000 silver 4 and 8 reales were salvaged.
All of these will include custom Mahogany wooden boxes, as well as cards telling the story of this amazing piece of history! A wonderful gift for the collector in your life! All of these will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
Please use the photos to determine grade for yourself!
**International buyers: Some countries charge customs fees on international orders- I have no control over these- Please check with local customs officials ahead of time!
